Summit Chorale has a fund set aside upon which the Board can elect to draw only the interest portion (not the principal amount) for its operations. This fund is relatively small.
One idea which would help the fund grow is for our patrons, and others, to consider specifying in their wills a portion of their estate as a gift to the Endowment Fund in the form of an addition to the principal. Obviously, this is long-term thinking ... but when your organization is a century old, you're doing a lot of long-term thinking.
