Summit Chorale, one of New Jersey's longest standing and most highly regarded arts organizations, received further distinction in 1997 by being designated as Chorus in Residence at Drew University. This relationship benefits both organizations and the people associated with them in several ways. It affords the Chorale the opportunity to be a part of an educational community that can also expand and diversify our own audience. We, in turn, contribute to the artistic life of the campus by bringing memorable performances of the world's great choral masterpieces within walking distance of the students, faculty and staff of the University. In many ways the relationship supports all four points in the Summit Chorale mission statement.
Summit Chorale holds its regular, weekly rehearsals on the Drew campus and performs at least one concert per season on or near campus. In addition, the Chorale actively solicits Drew University students as candidates for our scholarship program. The phrase "Summit Chorale is Chorus in Residence at Drew University" appears prominently in our programs and other publicity materials.
