Artistic Director - Dr. Thomas Juneau

Dr. Thomas Juneau

“Ambitious, exhilarating, memorable” (Cincinnati Enquirer) are words used by critics to describe performances by conductor, composer, and educator Thomas Juneau.  Committed to bringing outstanding choral music to people of all ages, Dr. Juneau performs with a variety of ensembles in the Northeast.  In addition to his responsibilities as Artistic Director of Summit Chorale, now entering its 102nd season, Dr. Juneau is also Director of Choral Activities at Saint Joseph’s University, where he conducts all choirs and teaches both vocal methods and choral literature.

Dr. Juneau’s compositions for chorus are published by numerous companies, including Alliance Music, Southern Music Company, Hal Leonard Corporation and Carl Fisher Music Company.  He is in demand as a choral composer and his works are performed throughout the world.

Prior to leading Summit Chorale, Dr. Juneau was director of the Rutgers University Choir, and began such choral traditions as the annual Rutgers Choral Extravaganza.  Before moving to New Jersey, Dr. Juneau was Artistic Director of the Cincinnati Baroque Orchestra and Chorus, a professional orchestra and chorus which also included a symphonic chorus for performances of major works such as Haydn’s Creation.  With the CBOC, Dr. Juneau led performances of masterworks including Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine (1610), Handel’s Messiah and Dixit Dominus, Mozart’s Requiem, and the Magnificat and Mass in B Minor of Johann Sebastian Bach.
