Dr. Thomas Juneau

Dr. Thomas Juneau, a DMA recipient in Choral Conducting from the Mason Gross School of Music at Rutgers University, received his undergraduate degree in Theory and Composition from Texas Tech University.  He earned his Master’s Degree in Conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.  While in Cincinnati, he formed the Cincinnati Baroque Orchestra and Chorus, a fully professional ensemble which performed music of Monteverdi, Bach, and Handel. Dr. Juneau has conducted performances of major works such as Haydn’s The Creation and Handel’s Messiah throughout the United States.  His performances have been heard on radio throughout the country, including performances on NPR’s Performance Today

In addition to being a conductor, Dr. Juneau is an active composer.  His first compositions were published by the age of seventeen and he has continued to release works for chorus and orchestra.  His compositions are published by Alliance Music and the Hal Leonard Corporation.  Prior to appointing Dr. Juneau as its Artistic Director, Summit Chorale had the pleasure of having him guest conduct their March Majesty concert in 2008.  Currently, he also serves as the Music Director at St. Joseph’s Church in Carteret, NJ where he has been since 2006.
